Yoga Moves is happy to offer something special for the whole family! We are inspired to be able to serve you, your children and women who are expecting...and your family at all stages of life! See more about each program below.

  • Pre-natal  & Post-natal Classes:  courses suitable for women at any stage of pregnancy
  • Birth Partner Workshop: to help you & your birth partner be ready for the big day (giving birth) together.
  • Kids Yoga Classes:  Children love to learn to move and to be still - yoga made fun and accessible!
  • Teacher Training for learning how to teach all the above!!!
  • Occasional special workshops, lectures or classes on other topics.

Birth Preparation Partner Workshop at Yoga Moves

Prepare yourself for birth in this one evening workshop for couples or for you and your choosen birth partner. We will be working on breathing, how to support contractions and be practicing birthing positions. Your partner will learn how to support you in the best possible way during labour. You can bring your life partner, but also friend, mother or someone else you would like to have with you during birth. Designed to support women and their partners who attend our pre-natal yoga classes however all welcome.

You do not need to have done the pre-natal course at Yoga Moves to join this class. This workshop is offered about once every 5 weeks and will be taught in either Dutch or English by Liese van Dam.

Children LOVE yoga!
They also need yoga!

They are natural and yet, if breath and movement are not encouraged at an early age, they quickly can become stiff – both physically and mentally! Yoga makes the body more flexible, increases blood circulation, can increase concentration and self-confidence, is non-competitive and helps bring calmness to the mind.

At Yoga Moves we teach traditional yoga poses in a playful way. The Sun Salutation is our basis, and most yoga poses are related to nature objects and animals. Through yoga we also learn about the breath, concentration, relaxation and consciousness. Give your children a chance to discover the power of yoga!

Yoga Moves offers kid's yoga (in dutch!) from ages 6-10 on:
Fridays at 15.30-16.30

Sign in: the childrens yoga classes at Yoga Moves are part of our normal class schedule and are drop-in. No reservation is necessary at this time!

Some parents ask how the the kids classes are structured:

  • Opening: Chanting, OM, Meditation & Stillness
  • Pranayama & Breathing exercises
  • Heart focus exercises
  • Sun and/or Moon salutations
  • Asana’s, most times thematic
  • Savasana / Relaxation/ Visualization/ Story
  • Last 10-15 minutes Mandala or Kolam drawing/opportunity to share thoughts
  • Closing circle: Chanting sacred sounds or mantra and Namaste (closing with honor)

Parents are welcome to watch the first class.

Join other mothers and babies as we learn how to safely practice yoga after birth and play with our babies! This workshop series is recommended for mothers and babies (6 weeks to one year), no previous yoga experience is necessary.

We will focus on regaining our muscle tone, rebuilding strength and stability (especially in the core/abdomen and back), breathing and meditation techniques, baby yoga and baby massage. You will feel rejuvenated, relaxed, and will learn invaluable tools as a parent. We will end each class with tea, giving mothers an opportunity to share information and parenting tips. (English Spoken!)

Prenatal Yoga

Pregnancy is a special time in a woman's life - it is a time for nurturing, slowing down and learning to meditate, while being in the company of other mothers-to-be. Join our Prenatal Yoga Classes to stay safely physically active during pregnancy; to learn meditation and breathing techniques which will help you during pregnancy, labor, and beyond; and take time to turn your attention inward and nurture this special time with your baby.

Yoga during pregnancy can help:

  • bring awareness to your changing body
  • improve oxygen flow to your organs and your babies
  • increase stamina and strength
  • prepare yourself physically and mentally for giving birth
  • concentrate - ease fears and tension
  • relax and cultivate a general feeling of wellbeing

At Yoga Moves you can expect to MOVE. We will offer you ways to stay in the flow of your body, so be prepared to work a little, breath a lot, and relax deeply. A wonderful experience both for the experienced yogini and for those women who are new to yoga. No previous experience practicing yoga is required.

Fees:

All courses are 8-weeks long
Cost €80.- (€70 for student and u-pas members).
