Food is Power

by Susan Pulley

Ayurveda looks at the individual first in every situation- before offering recommendations, giving herbs or treating. It honors each person as unique. Every individual has a unique constitution at birth, made up of 3 different types-Vata, Pitta and Kapha. It is our life’s blueprint.

On top of the blueprint, we layer our life habits: food we eat, impressions we receive, activities we perform, and our thoughts. Each of these has an effect on the blueprint of our constitution. Either it brings us more into our power by aligning us with our constitution, or it pushes us away from our constitution, which results in declining health. Every food you eat or activity you do affects you- and Ayurveda offers a description of what the effect is, so you can make sure what you do is making you more in balance, more aligned and healthier.
