- Near studio we often find ourselves at Bagels & Beans on the Biltstraat...2 blocks from the studio.
- Court Hotel (also breakfast and dinner!). This is a new restaurant (and hotel) and they have a very nice terrace – just down the street from De Dom. Korte Nieuwstraat 14. www.courthotel.nl
- De Blauwe Kameel (sandwich/lunchspot) in the city center. Open on wednesday-thursday-friday-saturday and "koopzondag". They have organic sandwiches, soups and juices. Quaint and Great! Donkerstraat. www.blauwekameel.nl
- De Bakkerswinkel. Try the high tea!
- Bagels & Zo. Good places for breakfast and lunch. Nice bagels and good atmosphere. Nachtegaalstraat. www.bagelsenzo.nl
- Grift Park – Lunch or Dinner or coffee – 5 minutes from the studio, enjoy the terrace overlooking the water!

Places to see in Utrecht
- Monastery garden of Domchurch. Beautiful to sit and read a book in the shade of the ancient walls or in next to the sun kissed herbs and flowers.
- Terrace of V&D department store when it is sunny. (find it inside the Hoog Catharijne Shopping Center! On top floor) Enjoy a nice buffet lunch (lots of fresh foods) here and overlook the whole of Utrecht!
- Wilhelminapark. Citypark. Griftpark. Enjoy a leisure stroll around the outer old Utrecht citywall. The citypark next to the canal surrounding Utrecht takes you pass gorgeous old buildings and places.
- Part of the Oude Gracht near Twijnstraat. Go to water level and view the houses and cellars. A nice mix of modern, old, nature, architecture, design, quaintness.
- Shops in Twijnstraat. This has some nice "conscious" places like GURU, ijs&zopie, organic marketshop.
- Flimtheatre Springhaver (www.springhaver.nl), Louis Hartlooper Complex (films and restaurant) (www.louishartloopercomplex.nl)
- Music: Cees Place (www.ceesplace.nl), a funky little jazz & blues club in a wharf cellar on the Oudegracht. Many free concerts and jamsessions throughout the year, sometimes with well-known musicians!
- Amelisweert, just out of the city, drink and eat lovely organic snacks and drinks after a stroll through the forest (http://www.veldkeuken.nl)
