Teacher Biography:

Liese van Dam

Liese van Dam is a Ayurvedic Practitioner and Yoga teacher. Liese started practicing yoga in 1997 and was immediately inspired by the way each asana is a reflection of our life and how the practice of Yoga teaches us how we can best deal with the challenges we come across. Originally trained as a Sivananda Teacher she taught extensively throughout the International Sivananda Organization for several years. In 1996 she commenced training with Birthlight and completed pre- and postnatal Yoga courses and continued to train as an Ayurvedic Practitioner at the Academy of Ayurvedic Studies in Amsterdam. Yoga and Ayurveda are two sides of the same coin and practice of the one deepens the experience of the other and vice versa. Both disciplines provide easy to follow guidelines. Liese continuously looks for the link between Yoga and Ayurveda and how these two practises combined can best support health and well-being. Since completing her training Liese teaches classical hatha yoga, pre- and postnatal yoga and offering ayurvedic consultations and treatments. She teaches Ayurvedic nutrition at the Academy of Ayurvedic Studies and various workshops on Yoga and Ayurveda.

Liese specializes in nutrition and women's health offering education during pregnancy and the postnatal period.
