Yoga Essentials, Going Deeper, 10-day In-Depth Yoga Studies Course
Yoga Moves Presents:
10-day In-Depth Yoga Studies Course
Yoga Essentials, Going Deeper
Enrich your practice and understanding of Yoga!
For intermediate and inspired students of yoga
• 10 full days spread over 4 months
Many people have requested a course where we explore yoga in depth, but outside a teacher-training course…and here it is!
Our new 10-day intensive begins with the questions “What can yoga mean to my life?” and proceeds to examine in detail fundamental principles of asana, pranayama and meditation practices as the interwoven threads of a holistic practice.
We will be asking ourselves the question “How can I integrate these principles in my life & practice?” and will help you determine specific personal approaches that can help you to make your practice fit your life. The focus of this course is on your own practice and understanding. It can also provide you with a good foundation to start Yoga Moves teacher-training course. Or maybe you already teach but want to boost your personal practice, in order to give a refreshed foundation to your teaching.
WHO?
- The program is open to curious and dedicated students interested in taking their practice to the next level (minimum of +/- 18 months regular yoga practice (mixed & intermediate level classes, practicing 3-5 times a week please taking classes at home and in studios),
- Target group: those wanting to teach in the future, as well as to current teachers seeking to deepen their practical knowledge of yoga.
- This is not a course to teach you how to teach but for your own practice!
GUIDES
Guided by highly experienced and deeply devoted trainers, you will explore many aspects of yoga, from asana and pranayama to the profound practices of meditation to still the mind and further awaken the heart. Your guides:
- Hiske van der Meulen – Asana as art, she is amazing in her ability to see the small in the large, to integrate the detail into the whole.
- Marlene Henny – Teacher extraordinaire – she has clarity and power on her side and a deep knowledge of asana, vinyasa flow and sequencing.
- Hilary (Menting) Brown – founder of Yoga Moves, she will be primarily supporting the EXPAND section of the course, guiding us into territories of the heart and mind and back again.

EXPAND
Each afternoon we will explore a topic integral to yoga but not usually covered in day-to-day classes, such as:

INTEGRATE
In these sessions we will show you how you can understand sequencing and build practices to address personal needs, such as insomnia, overwork, stress, back problems, etc. We will work with you to build practices that fit the group so it can benefit each of the participants individually.
RESTORE
Every day we will close with a combination of pranayama (breathing) practices and restorative hatha-yoga. You will find how healing a full spectrum practice can be in your whole being.
OMwork
We will offer you reading and listening assignments between weekends. And suggest practice routines you can build at home or in class. If you want to get the most out of this course we recommend that you follow classes regularly and/or have a steady personal practice before and during the course.
