Being a certified and passionate naturopath, working with groups and giving lifestyle and nutritional advice, it was inevitable for Kyra to be inspired by yoga. After practicing at home and in various places like Australia, Thailand, Costa Rica and Portugal for a number of years she decided to deepen her practice and start the Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Moves. Yoga for her is part of a lifestyle and something that she likes to share through teaching classes but also by using it (asana, breath, awareness and philosophy) during her workshops and in her articles on nutrition and conscious living. Other than that Kyra loves music, hammocks, traveling and surfing the waves when the sky turns pink and the sea shines like gold.

"Meditatie is ontnuchterend.

Pieter Vlugt studied history and English in Amsterdam and works as a freelance translator. In 2002 he moved to Utrecht, where he discovered dynamic yoga. This form of mind/bodywork allowed him to combine an old love for sports with a deep interest in eastern philosophy and meditation. Pieter has completed both levels of the Yoga Moves Teacher Training and is a regular teacher at Yoga Moves and elsewhere and is currently also enrolled in the Iyengar Yoga teacher training in Amsterdam. His goal is to help people find their path to inner discovery through yoga.
Rogier came to yoga from an athletic background. His specialisation was 400 meter hurdles. “Competing at the highest of one’s capabilities, being fully in the moment with the mind completely focussed on only the next hurdle to come, staying relaxed even when the going gets tough – I have run magical races, although they were rare, in which everything seemed to happen of its self.”
But sports have a downside: injury. And injuries came. And they came more and more. In the end they prevented Rogier from reaching his former levels of competition. It was at that time that he discovered yoga. After a while of practice he started to have similar ‘flow-experiences’ as he had as an athlete, but now without any sense of competition. Surprisingly, through the yoga practice his injuries diminished and eventually disappeared all together. “It felt as if yoga was taking care of my body again.”
In yoga also Rogier’s education as a scientist and his interests in psychology and philosophy come together. He feels a deep gratitude and love for the yoga way of life. “In the end yoga is nothing special: it’s about living and being human. Yoga provides the tools.
