Exciting News: Welcome back, everybody!

Last night I turned the TV on in the background across the room, while still fixated on finishing some work with my laptop in the far corner desk. We’ve become all too familiar with this scene for 2 years now, patiently waiting to hear some good news from the evening announcements. What is it going to be this time? I guess we all “knew” what’s going to be announced, since news outlets couldn’t keep it to themselves. But it doesn’t become official until it’s said by Minister Kruipers, doesn’t it? I was hopeful, but at the same time partially zoned out the noises coming from the TV. There’s always a chance of hearing something devastating. But before I realised it, I caught my smile growing bigger and bigger… I thought to myself: Is it really true? Wow, isn’t that some wonderful news?

The measures are relaxed and we’re gaining back some more freedom.

What does that mean for you and Yoga Moves?

For our community, this means a lot. It means we can finally come to see each other again, share our stories and work along side each other instead of sitting at home and communicate through our small screens. When you come visit, maybe you will hear many laugher, chit chats and see the many smiles again.

And for you, starting this Friday 18 February, face masks are no longer mandatory. But that doesn’t mean that you’re not welcome to protect yourself. Feel free to continue wearing your face masks if it makes you feel safe. Fun fact, a research conducted in the UK found that people are deemed as more attractive when wearing face masks, and this must be true since the eyes are the window to the soul!

Marking tapes for mat placing will be removed in all our studios. Feel free to move around (but make sure others are comfortable too).

Hands-on Adjustment cards are prepared for you at the front desk, you’re invited to make use of these cards to let teachers know if you’re welcome to hands-on adjustment from them.

The capacity for classes are increased, but are not go back to full capacity for now. We understand that some of you still prefer to have some more room. If you want more space, we recommend that you see our class schedule for classes in the late mornings, early afternoon or late evenings. These are classes that mostly have less attendance and therefore more space.

From 25 February, QR code checks will be removed. We’re looking forward to seeing all of you again. We’ve missed you!

Lastly, as we’re all moving towards the ‘normal life’ away from our screens, our goal is to get people back on the mat again. We want to see your smiles, see the way you flow, help you reach the goal of your practice in person, and maybe even with hands on adjustments if you are fine with that. That is why we are reconsidering some of the livestream classes with low live online attendance. We want to encourage your return to the studio and to the community. If you still prefer to practice from home, we’re updating our On-Demand Library weekly with new classes with our Yoga Moves and international teachers. Read more about our On-Demand here.

Thank you for being patient with us. Our Yoga Moves Team is happy to welcome you back in our studios.

Namaste,

Maurice
