Finding Silence Through Sound
Silence is not always the absence of sound. Sometimes we notice it most clearly in the moment after a sound disappears.
On Saturday 3 October, Museum Catharijneconvent explores this idea during Catharijne & Co: Stilte & Kunst. Throughout the museum, visitors are invited to experience what happens when attention shifts and the pace of looking changes.
Yoga Moves is part of the programme with two special yoga sessions led by Marieke Kooijmans. Marieke is a yoga teacher, sound healer and musician. She begins each session with accessible Hatha Yoga, using breath and flowing movement to help the body settle.
The practice then moves into a live sound journey with instruments and vocals. As the final sounds fade into the museum, there is space to notice the silence that remains.
It is a chance to experience yoga in a completely different setting and discover how movement can change the way you listen.
