What Moves You: Jantina
Jantina Vergaal has been practising at Yoga Moves for twelve years. In that time, the studio has become a familiar part of her life. “She’s a companion to me,” she says. “It feels like my second home.”
When Jantina talks about her practice, she remembers the teachers who saw what was happening beneath the surface. They challenged her and gave her personal attention. At the time, she says, she was often driven by her ego and found it difficult to slow down. Yoga helped her recognise how much strain she was carrying in her body and mind.
That is part of why Yoga Moves matters so much to her today. Coming to the studio has become something she makes room for in everyday life: a place to practise, to be challenged and to return to herself.
Jantina ends her story with a wish for everyone to keep growing and to enjoy good health. And when life gets difficult, she hopes we can hold on to something else too: “No matter what life throws at you, just keep the sparkle and the lightness of it.”
