Soma Prana Vinyasa is a regenerative practice that is connected to the inner water, ojas, essence, vitality, and amrita as the sublime nectar of healing – the energy that can green a desert and restore love. 

This new offering is distilled from 24 years of Shivas’ evolution of vinyasa and is the first module (part one) to offer how to teach lunar vinyasa as a balancing healing approach to transforming stress and tensions, cultivating ojas, and circulating nectar.

Ojas is the vital energy that rules our immunity, strength, and happiness: three things we want to have in abundance. If our Ojas are weak, our health, our spirits, and our energy sag.

We will cultivate the root of Chandra Namaskar and explore meditative dancing warriors in a lunar flow as we learn how to skilfully lead lunar wave sequences. You will receive the transmission of lunar elemental namaskars as movement mediation along with lunar prana vinyasa sequences integrating mudrasanas (long holds with inner visualization).

You will also focus on learning basic prana flow self-massage for embodied knowledge of connective tissues, release of dense muscles, and awakening circulation of blood flow, lymph, and prana flow. Every day we will focus on the art of lunar hands-on assists through self-massage and basic supportive flows from Ayurvedic Kalari-based massage which help lubricate and restore the inner and outer body.

Learn how to cultivate the inner arts of lunar meditation, mudra and mantra as ways of transforming stress, offering peace to a changing world, as we learn to nourish ourselves while still being warriors for peace.

  • Lunar Prana Vinyasa Namaskars for cultivating movement meditation, fluidity, rejuvenation.

  • Lunar mudrasanas – long holds in forward bends, inversions, restorative, and supine asanas.

  • Meditation – mantra, mudra, and contemplation.

  • Opening and closing chants for regeneration.

  • Sahaja Prana Flow – healing flow of spontaneous movement.

  • Pranayama – lunar breath flows and other prana kriyas.

  • Wisdom sutras from the tantras and universal wisdom to bring into class.

  • Prana nadi self-massage – with massage tools, sacred touch, and optional essential oils or Ayurvedic oils.

  • Life-practices for cultivating ojas through Ayurveda.

  • Continued study and support through a three-month to one-year online program that integrates the transformation of lunar vinyasa into your daily life.

  • Learn chandra namaskar with mantras and lunar dancing warriors with connecting vinyasas for all levels of practice and energy.

  • Explore the art of rejuvenation, restoration, and lunar prana flow®.

  • Learn four primary lunar sequences to develop hip opening, forward bending, twists, back bending, and inversions in a meditative flow.

  • Learn basic prana flow® self-massage flows with Ayurvedic herbal healing oils, massage balls, and tuning forks.

  • Focus on the hands-on assist and energetic alignment for the lunar families of asanas.

  • Focus on teaching meditation with poetic language to create a lunar bhava (feeling mind).

What is Prana Flow as taught by Shiva Rea?
