25 years. Two journeys. One practice.
with Hilary Brown & Maurice Eikmans
Two journeys. One practice.
As the days grow shorter and the light begins to fade, nature invites us to do what we so rarely allow ourselves — to slow down, to soften, to turn within.
This Yin class is an offering for exactly that. Through long-held, supported poses and the quiet of stillness, we create space to release what we carry and meet what we find underneath. No performance, no push — just the body, the breath, and the present moment.
It is a perfect practice for this time of year, when the darker season asks us not to resist but to rest. To let the body be heavy. To let the mind grow quiet. To remember that stillness, too, is a form of wisdom.
Come as you are. Leave a little lighter.

about the teachers:
Hilary teaches a lyrical form of vinyasa yoga, a fluid but precise, dynamic yet relaxed method that incorporates the breath as a focus of moving meditation. She teaches with sensitivity and strength, letting you discover what yoga can bring to your life in a real and tangible ways. Breath is always a theme in her work, but equally understanding and feeling what you are doing. Alignment is a key ingredient and joy a natural outcome of her teaching. Sometimes you will laugh, cry or dance in her classes! Hilary is a committed yogi that helps her students take a step closer to themselves.
In his yin and vinyasa classes, Maurice helps you find stillness from within. You can connect with your body and mind through feeling and being more at one with your environment. Now and then, he shares authentic stories to lead you through longer held yin poses or to bring focus into an active flow sequence. Maurice loves to teach both indoor and outdoor to integrate the earth element. Besides teaching yoga, Maurice also holds mindful and meditation sessions for corporations.

25 Years | THE celebration
Come as you are. Meet old friends. Make new ones.
For 25 years, Yoga Moves has been about much more than yoga classes.
It has been about people. About showing up, practising together, learning, changing, laughing, sweating, slowing down — and meeting people you might otherwise never have met.
On Saturday 21 November, we’re bringing all of that together for one special night.
And we would love you to be part of it.
25 years. One night. Our community.
We’re taking over NE:EL, an urban space in Utrecht, for an evening that brings together people from every chapter of Yoga Moves.
Whether you joined us in the early days, did a Teacher Training with us years ago, teach or work with us now, practise every week, or only recently walked through our doors for the first time — this celebration is for you.
Expect music, stories, memories, food & one drink on us, familiar faces, new connections and a few surprises along the way.

25 years. Two journeys. One practice.
We close our 25 Years celebration weekend where Yoga Moves has always found its heart: on the mat, practising together.
Hilary started Yoga Moves in 2001, teaching in a small rented room in Utrecht. Over the years, it grew into the community it is today. Maurice’s journey with yoga started much later, eventually leading him to become a yoga teacher and, in 2021, join Hilary as co-owner of Yoga Moves.
For the first time, Hilary and Maurice will teach a class together.
Hilary begins with her Slow Flow: a fluid yet precise practice, moving consciously with the breath and creating space to feel and settle more deeply into the body.
From movement, Maurice will guide you into Yoga Nidra. The body becomes still as attention gradually moves inward. Nothing to achieve, nowhere to go — simply allowing yourself to experience what is there.
Move. Slow down. Become still.
Two different journeys with yoga, coming together in one practice. A one-time class celebrating 25 years of Yoga Moves and the community that made it possible.
Free and open to all as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations. All are welcome. Free.
