XL: Fluid Power Yoga Master Practice
With Simon Rowe
Awaken your fluid power
Movement is medicine and people need intelligent movement more than ever. Explore a yoga practice that moves and breathes with you - somatic, embodied and spaciously alive.
Fluid Power is modern vinyasa with classical roots. Experience the fusion of the wisdom of East and West in a yoga of our time. This XL practice is a journey in embodied yoga that invites intelligent, organic and somatic movement to compliment the stillness of holding yoga poses. Fluid power invites you to move beyond rigidity, fixed shapes and mindless repetition. Rather than forcing the body into predetermined shapes, we move into poses organically from breath, awareness and the natural intelligence of the body itself.
Meditation in motion
Simon has developed his fluid power yoga teachings based on years of teaching and his extensive study of energetic (Prana) vinyasa yoga, kundalini and conscious movement. He explores the intersection between the ancient wisdom of yoga and the more modern insights from somatic and conscious movement practices. Learn to practice in a way that is fluid, conscious and sustainable. Fluid power is soft power, nothing is ever forced, the practice unfolds organically and harmoniously. The yoga becomes a meditation in motion, a living flow rather than a series of poses. Learn how to move from the inside, to ride the wave of the breath, be guided by breath and Prana.
Intelligent sequencing & movement
Fluid Power sequences unfold through cycles of waves, building gradually and preparing the body to move deeper into more challenging poses in a way that feels intelligent and balanced. Movement is organised from within and carried through the whole body, creating a more integrated and co-ordinated experience as movement unfolds in spiral, circular and wave-like patterns that feel natural, intelligent and organic. Mindful pauses create space for students to feel and integrate, inviting you to find your own rhythm and honour your own needs. Instead of progressing linearly toward a single peak pose, the practice moves through counterbalancing patterns of movement, creating a rhythmic and nourishing practice that builds strength and openness while maintaining a sense of fluidity, balance and internal harmony.
In Fluid power, Simon explores how traditional yoga intersects with modern understandings of somatic movement and embodiment. When these perspectives are brought together, yoga becomes both energetically powerful and physically intelligent. This is the basis of what Simon calls smart yoga, a yoga for our time.
