XL: Introduction to Ashtanga YOGA Intermediate Series

In this workshop, we will explore Ashtanga Yoga's Intermediate Series, Nadi Shodhana, meaning "purification of the nervous system." While the Primary Series emphasizes grounding, stability, and forward folding, the Intermediate Series introduces deeper backbends, twists, hip openers, and more energetic postures designed to awaken and uplift both body and mind.

The Intermediate Series challenges us to develop greater strength, flexibility, focus, and patience while deepening our understanding of the relationship between breath, movement, and nervous system regulation.

Together, we will break down key postures of the series in an accessible and supportive way, offering variations, modifications, and technique guidance to help you approach these more advanced asanas safely and confidently. Expect a playful and challenging practice that will deepen your understanding of backbending, spinal mobility, breath, and energetic flow.
