THE ART OF READING BODIES

Elevate Your Teaching with Precision and Confidence
With Nele van Poucke

Imagine stepping into your yoga class and intuitively knowing what your students need—before they even ask.

The Art of Reading Bodies gives you the skills to observe with clarity, assess quickly, and respond with confidence. Through the lens of the 5 Prana Vayus, and by refining your verbal cues and hands-on support, you’ll learn to lead inclusive, intelligent classes where each student feels truly seen and supported.

Leave behind hesitation, unclear instructions, and nervous energy. Instead, step off your mat ready to offer clear, confident guidance and intentional touch that enhances your students’ experience—whether they’re beginners or seasoned practitioners.
This training is more than alignment—it’s about cultivating an embodied, responsive teaching style. You’ll learn how to meet students where they are, support them in the moment, and create spaces where transformation can happen.
Embrace your role as a skilled, intuitive teacher. Your confidence will grow, your teaching will deepen—and your students will feel the difference.

Join this module as part of our new
300-hour Advance Your Yoga Training (Start Feb 2026 or as a stand alone module.

WHAT you’ll master:

Decision-Making Techniques: Know when to use verbal cues, movement corrections, or hands-on enhancements.

Clear, Impactful Cues: Ditch the jargon and deliver instructions your students will love.

Healing Hands-On: Safely enhance poses like Downward Dog, leaving your students transformed.

Q: What is Reading Bodies all about?

A: Building Confidence as a Teachers!

This training helps you lead with authentic confidence, showing you how to give clear, simple cues students can follow while keeping the practice flowing naturally. You’ll discover the sweet spot between precise instruction and organic movement and pick up practical strategies for handling common challenges—whether that’s first-class nerves, wandering focus, or losing your sequence mid-flow.

Verbal Adjustments

  • Precise, bite-sized cues that land before any physical assist.

  • Avoid cue overload—keep language clear, supportive and approachable.

  • Foster student independence while still giving just enough direction.

  • Set an inclusive tone so every body feels valued in the room.

The Role of Touch

Touch becomes meaningful when it is intentional. You’ll learn how the five movements of Prāṇa guide safe, purposeful assists and discover exactly when hands-on support is helpful—whether to refine alignment, add stability or invite deeper sensation. Consent takes centre stage: we’ll practise simple, respectful ways to ask permission so every student feels empowered and safe.

Hands-On Lab

  • Practise three assist styles:

    1. Directional – guide alignment.

    2. Supportive – stabilise balance or restoratives.

    3. Deepening – invite safe range exploration.

  • Work in pairs; refine pressure, placement and energetic intent with real-time feedback from peers and mentors.

What You’ll Take Away

By the end you’ll speak with confidence, offer hands-on help safely, and know how to meet diverse student needs while holding an inclusive space—plus you’ll leave with a reflection plan to keep evolving your teaching long after the workshop ends.
