Rethinking Movement: An Introduction to Hanna Somatics
With Lisa Petersen
A 2-Hour Online Workshop with Lisa Peterson
Friday 18 September | 15:00–17:00 CET
Includes a live Q&A about the November Hanna Somatics Teacher Training (optional) at 17.00
What if many of the aches, tension and movement limitations you experience aren't caused by tight muscles—but by your nervous system?
In this experiential online workshop, you'll be introduced to the principles of Hanna Somatics and discover how unconscious stress patterns influence posture, movement and comfort in the body.
The body develops three primary stress responses that become deeply embedded in the nervous system over time. These reflexive patterns can limit mobility, create chronic muscular tension and contribute to discomfort and pain. Through gentle somatic movement, you'll begin to recognise these patterns and learn how to retrain them from within.
Hanna Somatics combines modern neuromuscular science with a deep understanding of embodied awareness, offering a practical and effective approach to restoring ease, freedom and natural movement.
During this workshop you'll:
Discover the three primary neuromuscular reflexes that shape posture and movement.
Experience simple somatic exercises that help release chronic muscular tension.
Improve body awareness, coordination and ease of movement.
Explore how the nervous system influences flexibility, posture and alignment.
Learn practical techniques you can integrate into your yoga practice, movement routine or daily life.
Experience a gentle practice that supports relaxation, resilience and nervous system regulation.
The session includes guided somatic movement, embodied anatomy, breath awareness and deep relaxation, giving you an authentic experience of the Hanna Somatics approach.
Following the workshop, you're warmly invited to stay for a free live Q&A with Lisa Peterson to learn more about the Hanna Somatics Teacher Training beginning in November. This is an opportunity to ask questions about the training, who it's for, and how it can support your personal practice or professional development.
Everyone is welcome. No previous experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to explore a new way of moving and learning.
